More than a century after Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad (“KLK”) was founded as a plantation concern, the Group’s primary activity is still the growth of oil palm. The Sharikat In Ulu Tiram, Johor, Kim Loong Sendirian Berhad started building a palm oil mill under the name Kim Loong Palm Oil Sdn. Bhd., which is now a subsidiary of Kim Loong Resources Berhad. The Sharikat By purchasing 1,000 acres of property in Sandakan, Sabah, Kim Loong Sendirian Berhad increased its presence in the state. The area was initially cultivated with cocoa, then with oil palm. incorporation of Sungkit Enterprise Sdn. Bhd., a company that is presently a Kim Loong Resources Berhad subsidiary, to carry out operations related to kernel crushing.

With a total gross land area of roughly 2,862 acres, the Company entered into Sale and Purchase Agreements on February 19, 2020, and subsequently assigned this purchase to its subsidiary, Suhenson Estate Sdn. Bhd. In February 2021, the Group took possession of 2,708 acres (1,096 hectares) of oil palm plantation land in Sabah. The Keningau Mill biogas plant started providing the grid with up to 2 MW of electricity per hour in December 2022.
